Thanks to its Coaxpress 2.0 interface, the Basler Boost Camera is suitable for applications up to 40 m Distances for image transmissionwhere high resolutions and data rates are required. They occur, for example, in sectors such as the semiconductor industry, Photovoltaics, Display inspection, printing technology and packaging industries as well Medical Technology.

Boost bundle of camera and interface

Camera and interface from a single source offer that Boost bundle. In addition to the Boost Coaxpress Camera and the matching CXP 12 interface card, there is also a CXP 12 accessory starter kit for the time and cost-saving evaluation phase. With compact dimensions of 80 x 80 x 45 mm, the camera contains a digital input and 2 GPIO ports with a maximum cable length of 40 m.

The Coaxpress 12 Evaluation kit was put together for the time and cost-saving, optimal evaluation phase of an image processing system. The included CXP 12 interface card was specially developed for combination with the Boost camera. The card connects the Coaxpress camera via a CXP 12 channel for smooth image data transfer. Both components can be controlled via the Pylon Camera Software Suite. They form an optimal unit for efficient evaluation and integration into the application.

The CXP 12 Starter Kit Contains a CXP data cable, two heat sinks for optimal thermal management of the Coaxpress camera outside of the image processing system, a C-mount lens adapter and an I / O cable for external triggering of the camera.

3D Camera | Industrial image processing

PTP (IEEE 1588) is a standard network protocol that synchronizes the clocks of multiple devices on a network with a master device. PTP allows Mako cameras to be synchronized to within a few microseconds with each other and with other cameras or devices that support this standard. This enables extremely precise inspection with multi-camera systems.

The Trigger over Ethernetfunction enables precise control of the cameras via the Gigabit Ethernet interface cable. In combination with the Power over Ethernet function of the Mako cameras, a single cable is sufficient for power supply, triggering, camera control and transmission of image data.

Industrial cameras with Global Shutter CMOS sensors

23.04.2018 | Rauscher presents eight new Basler ACE U cameras with global shutter CMOS sensors in VGA and 1,6 megapixel resolution that deliver up to 520 frames/s. The Sony Pregius IMX273 sensor with a pixel size of 3,45 µm offers optimal image quality, high speeds and low noise. The IMX287 sensor has twice the pixel size with an edge length of 6,9 µm.

This results in an increased saturation capacity and a higher dynamic range with the same sensitivity and also low noise. Both sensors have the Ultra Short Exposure Time Feature, which enables extremely short exposure times of up to 1 µs. This makes them suitable for applications with fast movements, such as in the printing sector.

The sensitivity of both sensors extends into the near infrared range, positioning them as a good alternative to higher-priced, dedicated NIR sensors in applications where low sensitivity in the NIR range is sufficient, such as electroluminescence inspection or in traffic and security applications.

With their properties, the ACE U Cameras ideal as an upgrade for older CCD cameras with low resolutions. The IMX287 CMOS sensor, for example, is a good alternative to the ICX618 CCD sensor, because the similar pixel format with the same resolution enables a smooth change. With its significantly better sensor properties at a similar price level, the IMX287 offers users additional optimization potential for the entire image processing chain.

Vision Sensor solves many tasks in factory automation

These ACE U cameras are available with proven GigE and USB 3.0 interface and have the PGI feature set, the combination of 5 x 5 debayering, color anti-aliasing, noise reduction and image sharpness optimization. The GigE cameras also offer powerful GigE Vision 2.0 features such as PTP. The cameras can be easily integrated using the Pylon Camera Software Suite from Basler.
