Semikron offers customer-specific power modules with individual switch topology, chip assembly and protection functions, including advice to customers by power semiconductor experts. The construction and integration of the modules is done according to customer requirements. With output powers up to 150 kW, the modules are predestined for use in uninterruptible power supplies, photovoltaic systems, drives, welding systems and rail systems.
Complex circuits with flexible pin layout are implemented in compact module housings. The customer supplies the requirements for the electrical circuits, services, chip technology and additional functions such as temperature and current sensors. From the development to the final assembly of the modules on site, the customer is accompanied and advised on performance and cost efficiency.
The customer-specific modules are produced in a cell-based process with minimal part movement and short set-up and waiting times between the individual production steps. The process flow in the production cell can be made more flexible and is easier to control than with conventional high-volume production lines. Therefore, even smaller quantities can be realized efficiently.
The tailor-made modules go through the entire spectrum of performance and qualification tests. The standard tests will be complemented by a series of additional reliability and qualification tests such as thermal resistance measurements, static and dynamic load tests and 17 different qualification tests totaling more than 10.000 hours duration.
