Nabtesco presents for the first time a servo motor in combination with the RV gearbox. To save space when used in the machine tool, this high-precision servo drive was developed, which can be used as an alternative to direct drive in the future. Whereas in the past worm gear units were mainly used in milling or swivel heads, direct drives were still regarded as the state of the art today.
The developers now combine a flat servo motor with the precision gear technology, which offers much less space than a direct drive. By interacting with the reducer higher forces can be transmitted and a much smaller motor can be used. The space savings for the same performance data is up to 50% when installed in the machine tool.
The combination of servomotor and cycloidal gearbox enables maximum torques with exact positioning accuracy. In addition to easy integration and low installation costs, the high-precision servo drive is maintenance-free and has a high power density. Even customer-specific adjustments are possible without any problems. A generous hollow shaft also allows the passage of cables, wires or lasers.
