Baumüller has in its torque motors increased the rated speeds and developed the new servo motor series DSP. The high-torque motors with integrated thrust bearing are now offering in the series DST2 (Picture) with an increased speed of 600 min-1, Especially manufacturers of single-screw extruders benefit from this innovation and can thus make their machine layout much more flexible in the future.
Fast-running extruders can be realized with the same power either with smaller screw diameter or smaller motor. Also for high speeds, the manufacturer developed his DSP motors, with rated speeds up to 6000 min-1 the existing one DSC series complete. The DSP series has the same external design and therefore the same mechanical and electrical interfaces as the DSC synchronous motors and the proven DSD servo motor series, as well as the same selection of cooling options: uncooled, air-cooled and water-cooled. Thus, the manufacturer allows the customer great flexibility in drive design. Additional lengths in the DSP series also led to an expansion of the torque spectrum up to 140 Nm.
Also the series of synchronous motors DS was supplemented with a new series. The DS2 motors have an approx. 10% higher rated output, which allows machine manufacturers to save on construction space. In addition, the speed of the motors, which are available with both water and air cooling, up to 4300 min-1 increased. The dynamic and powerful DS2 synchronous motors thus extend the range of synchronous motors up to 300 kW and achieve cost savings and increased productivity for the user.
