Baumüller presents its new Generation of the servo motor series DSD in sizes 45 to 100 with increased power spectrum in terms of speed and torque as well as a more compact design. Due to the increased speed range of up to 6000 min-1 productivity and dynamics are greatly improved. In addition, the sizes 71 to 100 are now also available with water cooling.
The new cooling option reduces the noise level and surface temperature of the engine. In addition, water-cooled servo motors have more than twice the power density compared to uncooled versions and can also be used when surface ventilation is not feasible due to certain environmental conditions. Thus, an optimal adaptation to the respective cooling concept is given.
Visually, the DSD2 engines were converted into the more compact body design of the DSC motor series. The servo motors also have a consistent, slim housing design and a smooth housing surface with low susceptibility to dirt. The new features not only increase engine performance and profitability for the user. At the same time, any contamination or restrictions when using it in existing machines are a thing of the past. In addition, the use of Basic Performance Transmitters in the new generation of DSD2 engines is feasible. With this expansion of the encoder portfolio, optimum scalability of the motor to the respective dynamic application is possible.
The DSD2 motors are used wherever high dynamics are required. The unified mechanical design and identical interfaces increase the flexibility of the machine manufacturer. The permanent-magnet synchronous servomotors are almost free of detent torque and more energy efficient than other motors of similar design. Due to their consistent mechanical concept, they are optimally designed for use in textile and plastic machines as well as in tool production. All DSD2 series motors are available up to IP 65 protection.
