At the Motek, the drive specialist will be presenting its Linear actuator series "Captive" for linear adjustment movements, Smallest positioning resolutions and high feed rates can be achieved with linear drives based on hybrid stepper motors. They represent an interesting alternative to pneumatic or hydraulic drives.
Thanks to the integrated anti-twist device, the linear displacement movements can be implemented in a very simple, cost-effective and space-saving manner with the Captive linear drives, so that additional external mechanics can be dispensed with. They are based on hybrid stepper motors with resolutions of 200 or 400 full steps per revolution. Due to the different spindle pitches of the ingenious linear attachment, the smallest positioning resolutions up to the hundredth of a millimeter can be achieved. In addition, feed rates of up to approx. 100 mm / s can be achieved.
Different lengths of the feed attachment allow maximum adjustment paths from 12,7 to 63,5 mm. In the three motor sizes with NEMA front flange dimensions 14, 17 and 23 (35 x 35 mm, 42 x 42 mm and 56 x 56 mm) maximum feed forces of up to 200 or 800 N can be generated.
Typical applications for linear actuators, such as valve adjusters, have so far mostly been realized hydraulically or pneumatically. The captive drives now enable the purely electric and thus environmentally friendly drive. Driven by appropriate microstep controls, any intermediate steps with very high positioning resolutions can be approached between the end positions.
