GroschoppThe High-end servo motors Due to their dynamics, the EGK series from Groschopp is also known as the "Black Panther". With the new sizes 120 and 150 mm, even higher outputs can now be achieved. The third generation feature is more than doubled power density compared to the previous series. The Black Panther motors are now available in the sizes 48, 65, 80, 120 and 150. Thus, the manufacturer also covers the power range up to 7,5 kW with the electronically commutated motors.

The higher power and torque of 24 Nm are in demand in many user industries such as packaging machines or bottling plants as well as in mechanical engineering. In addition to the high power density, the motors are characterized by their dynamics and positioning accuracy. Operated with a servo drive, they generate a constant torque. Resolvers, which are optionally interchangeable with optical encoders, are standard encoders. In the version with shaft seal, the drives achieve protection class IP 65.

The electronically commutated EGK are produced in the tooth coil winding with a single tooth. In this way, high numbers of poles can be produced with a few coils. The manufacturer is one of the pioneers in this production technology, which increases the efficiency and power density of the motors and is mainly used in the lower power range, in which most of its drives are moving. During development, electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical behaviors were analyzed and optimized, for example with the finite element method.

As a special feature is an oblique winding available, which reduces the cogging moments. The attachment of the magnets on the runner is another advantage: they are positively pushed onto a dovetail guide, so that the connection must be secured neither by a bandage nor by an additional shell, as is the case with bonded magnets.
