ATB Austria offers a complete range of Ex "d (e)" engines according to the new IE3 efficiency class as standard in the new IEC / EN 60034-30 standard - from 0.75 to 200 kW. Although "Ex" engines are not covered by the new 640 / 2009 Regulation of the EU 2005 / 32 / CE Directive, the (petro) chemical and pharmaceutical industries have always been pioneers in the implementation of new (green) applications. Thus, these engines find a wide range of use in many companies that rely on the reduction of their carbon footprints.
Over 20 years, the procurement and maintenance costs are only 3% of the total cost. Therefore, the energy consumption is responsible for 97% of the investment. The payback period compared to a normal engine is obviously very short - depending on the operating time, this period can take only a few months at best. The motors are available in II 2G Ex de IIC (B) T4 for zone 1 as well as in II 2G / DEx de IIC (B) T4 for zones 1 / 21 and 1 / 22. Other guidelines such as VIK / GOST and marine versions are also possible. The manufacturer also offers motors for low ambient temperatures up to -55 ° C without standstill heating. Because all motors are wrapped in copper wire, continuous variable speed control is possible with frequency converters without filters up to the 500 V mains voltage.
