Kammerer Gewindetechnik presents an extended product range of ball screws with big balls at the AMB in Stuttgart. The ball screws of the Black Forest specialist in threading technology are designed for heavy loads and are characterized by high load capacities with long travel distances. Advantages of the new series with large heavy-duty balls are the higher load ratings achieved with the same nominal diameter of the spindle for the DIN dimension, and the lower number of ball overrolls per spindle revolution, which has a positive effect on the life of the ballscrews.Newly developed deflection pieces with optimized ball track are also used in this series.
With the heavy duty series, the manufacturer can now offer ball screws up to a nominal diameter of 160 mm and a length up to more than 15 m. Depending on the required load rating and pitch, balls with sizes 9,52 mm, 12,7 mm, 15,0 mm and 20,0 mm are used in the screw drives. The thread profiles are ground both on the spindle and in the nut. When combining large balls with a driven nut, it is now possible to use very long ball screws with a high travel speed and load capacity. This is possible because the aspect of the critical bending speed can be neglected by stretching the spindle firmly clamped on both sides.
