The linear technology by Rodriguez offers from simple circular guide on rails or cross roller guides to entire linear systems for almost every movement task the right solution. The customer benefits of perfectly matched components specifically at the application-specific solutions. For example, in an orbital saw Ball Screw used with toothed belt drive and slide.
The linear unit feeds the saw tubes with a length up to 8 m with a delivery accuracy of ± 0,3 mm. The return of the semi-finished remnants is done by the linear guide. Due to the large initial length of the semi-finished products a long stroke had to be realized. It is due to the linear unit used in 12 m here. The resulting long travel paths allow large saw lengths without grasping. The belt drive of these units consists of a plastic toothed belt with steel cable inserts. It runs between two pulleys - one at each end of the profile. One pulley is connected to the motor, the other is installed in a tensioning station. The belt can be retightened while the load remains on the carriage. The prism slides used align themselves. They are precise, durable and resistant to vibration and shock loads.
The linear units described are characterized by low noise, a low total weight and compact dimensions. They are lubricated for life and sealed with a self-tensing magnetic stainless steel cover for harsh operating and environmental conditions. This protects the unit from the ingress of dirt, dust and liquids. Other typical applications are machines in the food or chemical industry, paper or wood processing, as well as in conveyor technology. For particularly demanding applications, there are also corrosion-protected and chemically resistant versions.
