Ruland presents a new series of Clamping rings in narrow design specifically have for applications that restrictions on width, outside diameter and weight. The narrow clamping rings can be used as clamping and positioning, leadership, spacers or end stop can be used and require less space than conventional clamping rings.
Constructed for applications in industries such as the packaging and printing, medical and food industries, the clamping rings are particularly suitable for components with split hubs such as encoders. Two-piece designs are optimized for higher-speed applications.
The clamping rings have excellent holding power in a compact design and are predestined for a variety of light and medium duty applications. Most bore sizes are available with different outside diameters and width dimensions as well as screw sizes. This allows the user to optimally adjust the dimensions and holding forces to the requirements of his application. In order to achieve a precise fit of the components, the clamping rings have a strictly controlled right-angled orientation of the face to the bore with a total deviation of <0,05 mm (0.002 inches).
There are one-piece as well as two-part narrow versions. One-piece clamping rings have very high holding forces, allow easy adjustment and do not damage the shaft. The split version is structurally balanced and suitable for high-speed applications. Both halves of the two-piece clamping ring remain connected throughout the manufacturing process to ensure a perfect fit.
