At the new Gear unit series Siemens' Flender SIG (standard industrial gearbox) has increased its torque compared to the previous product range and harmonized the size levels. The first type series comprises two- to four-stage helical and bevel-helical gear units for a torque range up to 125.000 Nm. The torque could be increased compared to the previous spectrum by up to 15% with the same size.
Since the sizes are now more harmonious, drive tasks can be solved with the exact gear. In addition, the new gearboxes are lighter than the previous series. In addition to a horizontal and vertical mounting position, they can also be placed on the front side. Standardized connections enable the flexible mounting of options, for example for temperature control or gear lubrication. The 3D CAD models make it easy to plan and design the system. The two- to four-stage helical and bevel-helical gear units have a torque range from 3600 to 125.000 Nm. In further expansion stages, the program will be extended to a total of 20 sizes with a spectrum up to 500.000 Nm. The 23-28 sizes with a torque of up to 1,4 million Nm continue to be covered by the existing modular system. Flender SIG can be used in many areas, for example as gearboxes for conveyor belts in materials handling and building materials industry or as drive components in environmental technology and the steel industry.
