The Schmersal Group is expanding its series of control panels with the new BDF 200-SD variant. This product version now has an integrated SD interface. In addition, the BDF 200-SD is equipped with an emergency stop function with electronic OSSD outputs and can be equipped with up to three operational command and signaling devices such as illuminated buttons, indicator lights, selector switches or key switches.

With the help of the integrated SD interface, the non-safe diagnostic signals of the command and signaling devices can be transmitted via an SD Gateway be transferred to the controller. In the safety circuit, different electronic safety switching devices such as sensors and locking devices can be connected in series with the BDF 200-SD without any problems. The devices can thus be installed more easily, quickly and cost-effectively, and installation errors are reduced.

Safety sensors and interlocks that are equipped with an SD interface can receive extensive status and diagnostic data from the individual devices in the series connection via the SD gateway and different fieldbustransferred to the controller. It can be z. B. status data of the protective device or error messages from a device. Individual diagnostics of the connected safety switching devices is possible. This means that the operator can see exactly which switch in the row triggered a signal. This contributes to faster troubleshooting, enables predictive maintenance and thus increases machine availability.

Air circuit breaker, digital protection relay and soft starter

The product series BDF 200 was developed for mounting on the commercially available aluminum profile systems of machine housings and can be installed there quickly. The basis of the series is a slim housing made of impact-resistant plastic. The placement of the buttons on the control panel is freely selectable. Identification fields allow individual marking of the functions. The machine manufacturer can display the common operating functions (emergency stop, on / off, forwards / backwards, operating mode selection, display of operating states or error messages, etc.) with the BDF 200 series.
