In particular, operators of complex multi-engine systems and their maintenance staff have the opportunity to proactively monitor all important performance and MRO parameters of the installed freewheels - in real time and remotely. Data analysis, remote maintenance and functional integration into higher-level control systems are part of the offer.

The Housing freewheels The FH series are overtaking clutches and, with nominal torques of 1.356 to 81.000 Nm, serve, for example, as automatic overrunning clutches in drive trains with several high-speed engines or turbines. Always being aware of what is happening inside the freewheels is of central importance for the system operators and their service teams. As part of predictive maintenance, it is best to do it around the clock, in real time and regardless of location. RINGSPANN incorporated these user wishes – and more – into the development of its new condition monitoring system for the housing freewheels of the FH series.

Sensor and diagnostic technology and modern telematics tools

In addition to innovative sensor and diagnostic technology, modern telematics tools were also used for the implementation. The result is a practical, complete solution that gives the user a complete overview of the current functional and kinematic status of everyone in the Condition monitoring system integrated housing freewheel. For this purpose, all MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) relevant operating temperatures and performance parameters are recorded. All data can be forwarded directly to the service center via remote maintenance for detailed analysis and interpretation.

The system operator or maintenance person can do this MRO-follow relevant events freely on the screen, tablet or smartphone. The system is not designed as a singular stand-alone product, but is designed for integration into higher-level production or service control systems. Modern network and Internet technologies are therefore an integral part of the overall package.
