NORD presents a new one IE5 synchronous motor (Image) which is a significant improvement in Energy Efficiency reached a new generation of switch cabinetconvert and a Profisafe module for that functional safety of machines and systems. The energy-efficient permanent magnet synchronous motor of the latest generation significantly reduces the losses in comparison with the current IE4 series.

The non-ventilated smooth motor achieves its high efficiency, which is in some cases significantly higher than efficiency class IE5, over a wide torque range and is therefore ideally suited for economical operation in the partial load range. The compact IE5 + motor offers a high power density with a small installation space and will first come onto the market in a size for the power range from 0,25 to 1,1 kW with a continuous torque of 1,6 to 4,8 Nm.

IE5 + synchronous motor for intralogistics and hygienic applications

The motor concept is gradually being expanded to include additional sizes and outputs. As it is easy to clean, corrosion-resistant and wash-down-capable, the motor is also suitable for use in hygiene-sensitive and harsh environments. The surface finishing NSD Tuph and degree of protection IP69K are available. An encoder is built into the housing to prevent damage as standard, a mechanical brake is optionally integrated. The IE5 + motor can be combined in a modular system with Nord gears and drive electronics and will be available from the second quarter of 2020.

Real-time Ethernet standards via an interface

The frequency converter "Nordac Pro SK 500P" is the first device of the new generation of frequency inverters. It uses the most modern component technology and offers the highest level of functionality, connectivity and modularity.

In addition to the standard CAN open interface, a multi-chip for Industrial Ethernet enables the most important real-time Ethernet standards to be used via a single interface. The Nordac Pro is available as an application converter (SK 530P and SK 550P) with a full range of functions and as a machine converter (SK 500P) with a reduced number of interfaces.

Functionally, it performs demanding tasks through integrated PLC, closed-loop control and positioning. The SK 530P has an SD card slot, USB interface and an option for expansion via an option module SK CU5. For connection to control systems via Industrial Ethernet, the SK 550P is the first choice. In addition to improved features and performance features, the new inverter generation offers a better total cost of ownership (TCO) than previous devices.

Functional safety of machines and plants

The option module Nord "SK TU4-PNS" supports the simple implementation of safe reactions and is mounted as an extension on the frequency converter "Nordac Flex". Together with a safe PLC, the drive electronics communicate reliably in the existing Profinet network via ProfiIsafe.

Functions such as SLS (Safety Limited Speed), SSR (Safe Speed ​​Range), SDI (Safe Direction), SOS (Safe Operation Stop) and SSM (Safe Speed ​​Monitor) are available and extend the safe stop functions STO and SS1 of the drives.

App for mobile use

Nordcon App and the mobile Bluetooth connection "Nordac Access BT", the drive specialist has created a mobile commissioning and service solution for all of its electronic components. It is used for analysis, monitoring and parameterization of its drive systems. The dashboard-based visualization can be used for drive monitoring and fault diagnosis. The parameterization of drives is easy and uncomplicated by means of a help function and quick parameter access.
