Weforma damping technology has developed damping cylinders that can be used flexibly for a large number of applications. With their WM-Z and WM-ZG series, an extensive range of hydraulic damping cylinders is available, which are suitable, for example, for the vibration decoupling of motors or in commercial washing machines and as rope tensioners.
The damping cylinders of both series have, depending on the customer's request, a tension, compression or compression and compression damping. Depending on the size, the dampers can absorb loads of up to five tonnes. By default, all models are adjustable: By turning the piston rod, a slight and precise damping adjustment is possible. Optionally there are - for use in series products - also fixed damping cylinder. For applications with vertical or up to 30 ° deviating mounting position, the damping cylinders WM-Z offer the advantage of the shortest possible overall length. The design-related idle stroke of up to 20% can be compensated if necessary by a longer piston rod. Complete positional freedom during installation offer the dampers WM-ZG. By their gas storage for volume compensation of the piston rod during retraction and unwanted idle stroke is also avoided.
Depending on the version, the housings have an outside diameter of 10 to 70 mm, the piston rods measure between 4 and 28 mm. In addition to the standard strokes of 10 to 500 mm, special strokes in any intermediate size up to 1000 mm are also available. The smallest version weighs just 30 g, while the largest and most powerful cylinders weigh up to 12 kg. Each damping cylinder has connecting threads on the housing and piston rod. “Thanks to the extensive range of accessories, we enable our customers to integrate it perfectly and easily into their planned or existing system,” explains Weforma managing director Armin Schmidt, explaining the diverse mounting options. Joint eyes, angle joints, clevises or rod ends in conjunction with swivel flanges can be attached.
The damping cylinders are made from precision tubing. To protect against corrosion and mechanical stress, all housings are galvanized and the piston rods are hard chrome-plated. The high quality of the surface treatments ensures the minimal wear of all moving components and thus a long service life with maintenance-free operation. Equipped with standard seals, the damping cylinders are suitable for temperatures from -20 ° to 80 ° C. There are special solutions with adapted seals and special oils for more demanding ambient temperatures down to -50 ° and 100 ° C.
