optocouplerRenesas Electronic puts five new ones optocoupler with 8,2 mm creepage distance. They are the world's smallest insulation modules for industryautomation and Solar inverters. With a package width of 2,5 mm, the RV1S92xxA and RV1S22xxA reduce the PCB mounting area by 35% compared to products from other manufacturers. 

The new building blocks help developers downsize, increase the number of robot axes and improve productivity in manufacturing. They also meet the needs of zero-energy homes that require smaller solar arrays for more installations in a limited space. The RV1S92xxA and RV1S22xxA are suitable for DC/AC inverters, ACservomotors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robotic arms, solar inverters as well Battery storage- and charging systems.

Smallest LSSO5 housing used for the first time

The 15 Mbps RV1S9260A-Communication coupler and the RV1S9213A-IPM driver (Intelligent Power Module) use the smallest LSSO5 package with a pin spacing of 0,65 mm for the first time. This is only half as much as compared to conventional housings for optocouplers. With a housing height of 2,1 mm, the optocouplers can be mounted directly on the back of the circuit boards.

This creates space for components that can be fitted on the top. The triple Infrared reflow soldering offers maximum flexibility. The high CMR noise suppression (50 kV / µs) and galvanic isolation of the RV1S92xxA optocoupler protect low voltage microcontrollers and I / O modules from high voltage circuits when transmitting high speed signals.

The optocoupler RV1S2211A and RV1S2281A have a DC input, a low voltage DC input and a transistor output. The RV1S2285A has an AC input and transistor output. The housing of the RV1S22xxA components with 8,2 mm creepage distance is 2,1 mm high and 2,5 mm wide. They are available in LSSOP packages with a pin spacing of 1,30 mm.

All five optocouplers offer reinforced insulation of 5000 Veff and are suitable for the High temperature operation. This is how they can withstand harsh operating conditions. The RV1S92xxA and RV1S22xxA optocouplers support 200 V and 400 V systems with reinforced insulation. This is how they meet industrial safety standards. All five components of optocouplers comply with the strict UL61800-5-1 standard for motor drives and the UL61010-2-201 standard for control devices such as the PLC.
