hella1019Hella gives vehicles with noiseless engines a sound that is similar to a conventional combustion engine. With the new acoustic warning system Avas (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System), road users can hear approaching vehicles better and are therefore warned.

To protect road users such as pedestrians, cyclists or the visually impaired since the 1. July 2019 new types of electric, hybrid and fuel cell vehicles in the European Union will be equipped as standard with an audible signal that announces the otherwise almost silent ride clearly audible. Similar regulations apply in the USA and China.

At speeds below 20 km / h, the warning system simulates a noise whose intensity increases with increasing speed. Even when reversing the Avas automatically generates an acoustic signal. At driving speed above 20 km / h, the simulated engine sound stops, because then the rolling of tires on the road causes enough loud noises.

In the compact sensor a standard sound is deposited, which can be taken over. Customized driving sounds can be developed on request.
