Two methods of surface protection

The Engines and gearbox from Nord Drive Systems are basically designed in such a way that they are efficiently protected against external influences such as moisture, splash water, dirt and aggressive media. In addition, these surface protection measures give the drive systems an aesthetic and uniform appearance.

High-solid paint to protect the environment

IE5 + synchronous motor for variant reduction and TCO reduction

It combines the positive emission properties of Hydro paint with the functionality of solvent-based coating materials. In addition, the lower solvent content of the paints of only approx. 20% allows very short drying times in production. This is a decisive advantage over water-based paints.

Powder coating for the electrical industry

For the electrical industry the drive specialist offers the robust and durable powder coating. With this coating, the surfaces treated in this way are more scratch-resistant, shock-resistant and abrasion-resistant, as well as more weather and chemical resistant. In addition, this surface coating is even more robust than the conventional Nord paint. The antistatic properties of the electrically conductive powder coatings also prevent static charging of the drive technology. Business failures are reduced to a minimum. Powder coatings are also free from solvents.

Surface finishing as an alternative to stainless steel

For particularly high demands on surface protection, Nord has the Surface finishing NSD TupH designed. A special process makes the surface corrosion-resistant and harder. The aluminum becomes as corrosion-resistant as stainless steel.

The surface refinement, which cannot be confused with a coating, creates a surface that is permanently connected to the base material protective layer on the surface. Nothing can peel or flake off. The drive technology can easy to clean and is largely insensitive to acids and alkalis. Even contact with aggressive media or the use of high pressure cleaners cannot harm these surfaces.

The NSD-Tuph procedure is in accordance with FDA Title 21 CFR 175.300 for Beverage and food applications authorized. As a long-lasting and low-maintenance alternative to stainless steel drives and painted models, drives with NSD Tuph save considerable costs in the long term, according to the manufacturer.
