The Swiss manufacturer Levo Standing wheelchairs are adapted specifically for over 40 years to meet the needs for all types of physical disabilities. For custom-made wheelchairs Levo is in the range kinematics on the application-specific customized gas springs by Suspa. The power support is one of the most important aspects of the design so that the user can easily switch between standing and sitting positions.
The "Levo Active-Easy" (LEA) model demonstrates how variably the manufacturer is able to cope with the application-specific requirements of this type of wheelchair, among other things. The individuality of a wheelchair - for children and adults - depends, for example, on the body weight of the user. The gas springs with different forces between 250 and 750 N are suitable for people with 30 up to 110 kg weight.
Different blocking variants
Different blocking characteristics can also be selected. Non-lockable gas springs are used for use in standing wheelchair variants with an integrated electric standing function at the push of a button. They support the motor in absorbing the weight of the wheelchair user when lifting and lowering.
This makes it possible to use a compact motor that requires little installation space. In wheelchairs in which the stand-up aid is triggered mechanically by exerting pressure on the armrests, lockable gas springs with slight damping are integrated. These enable gentle upward and downward movement in several stages via locking.
The gas springs can also be used for suspension damping, backrest adjustment or seat tilt adjustment.
