Material delayed crevice corrosion

Walter Stauffenberg has developed the material PP-AC for clamp bodies, which considerably delays the formation of crevice corrosion. Pipelines in harsh environments such as on offshore systems are particularly at risk from crevice corrosion. Aggressive salt water penetrates the gap between the pipe and the clamp body and leads to corrosion within this gap.
Even with stainless steel piping, there are clearly visible pits and notches in the metal. Reinforced by tensile stresses and inherent vibrations of the entire system, this can lead to cracks in the pipe and leakage. Salt spray tests in accordance with EN ISO 9227: 2006 prove that clamps made of PP-AC greatly delay the formation of crevice corrosion. The maintenance intervals at the facilities of the onshore and offshore industry can thus be significantly extended. This minimizes service costs and reduces costs. The dimensions of the PP-AC clamp body correspond to DIN 3015. All mounting components such as screws, welding plates, mounting rails, etc. are also available in the stainless steel qualities A2 and A4.
