Baumeroffers various designs of laser distance sensors for distance measurement, distance measurement and position measurement of a wide variety of objects. The portfolio is divided into standard, performance and high performance Laser distance sensor. In the following we present the new developments, including a miniaturized sensor with IO-Link and a sensor for objects with difficult Surfaces.
02.02.2021 | Baumer presents a new family of laser distance sensors. The laser distance sensors OM20 and OM30 IO-Link meets the trend towards more efficient and compact machines and systems without compromising the performance of the Sensors to have to accept.
An OM20 or OM30 laser distance sensor with IO-Link can be used flexibly in many applications due to its high measurement performance and compact design. In particular, these sensors offer a reliable, surface-independent optical distance measurement with a Repeatability of up to 1 µm and an extremely high measuring speed of up to 5 kHz. With the OM20 laser distance sensor, all of this is integrated in the small 37 x 35 x 13 mm housing. For measurements on structured surfaces such as machined metals or wood, the OM30 sensors function reliably thanks to the line beam shape with a range of up to 550 mm.
Thanks to the standardized IO-Link interface the sensors can be easily inserted into the steering integrate and offer easy parameterization. In addition to standard process data such as distance value or signal quality, additional data such as the measuring rate and exposure reserve of the sensor are available. The latter can be used as an indicator for the contamination of the sensor and thus supports predictive maintenance.
30.08.2019/XNUMX/XNUMX | With the multi-spot laser distance sensor from the Mesax family Baumer presents a compact measuring device for measurements on demanding surfaces. Thanks to the factory calibration, the sensor is immediately ready for use and delivers exact and repeatable measurement results, without any complex conversion or external software.
The new multi-spot measuring principle is based on the Light section process. In the distance sensor, up to 600 measured values per measurement are determined from an object and, thanks to the intelligent evaluation, the distance is calculated.
Thanks to a resolution of up to 2 µm or 0,008% of the measuring range at a measuring frequency of up to 500 Hz, the sensor offers exceptional quality stable measurement resultsthat are still extremely precise even with significant external light influences.
This makes the Mesax Multi-Spot distance sensor suitable for optical laser distance measurement and the ideal tool for a variety of applications in the Measuring and testing technology. Areas of application are, for example, the precise measurement of shiny molded parts in quality inspection or the optimal positioning of grinding wheels with rough surfaces on a workpiece.
Accurate and non-contact inline measurements without interrupting the production process using optical sensors are now an important part of the production of high quality products. For demanding surfaces such as brushed or galvanized metal, the OM70 laser distance sensors with linear beams from Baumer ensure the necessary reliability.
Measurements with a point laser beam deliver very unstable and therefore unreliable measurement results due to the structural differences on the surface, color edges or interference. The OM70 sensors have a very narrow line, especially in the focus of the measuring range. This allows the full information content of the sensor's receiving line to be used. This minimizes the effects of small unevenness such as machining marks, small scratches or depressions.
Applications are z. B. the height measurement on brushed metal plates (double sheet control) or the measurement on wooden surfaces. With six different measuring ranges from 30 to 1500 mm, the sensors are suitable for many applications.Dr. Volker Engels, Business Unit Manager Advanced Sensors Sensor Solutions, Baumer Electric AG, CH-Frauenfeld presents the new laser distance sensor for rough and shiny surfaces. The statement was made on February 3, 2016 at the trade press days in Karlsruhe.
The calibrated Mesax Multi-Spot distance sensor combines numerous measuring functions in one sensor without external software. It records a large number of measured values over a specified measuring range, from which it calculates a precise mean value.
03.05.2017/12/18 | With its IRXNUMX and IRXNUMX high sensitivity sensors from the Alphaprox-Family offers Baumer the first teachable standard inductive sensors for measuring the smallest changes in position such as deflections in metal supports. By measuring the deflection, conclusions can then be drawn about the acting load. Until now, this indirect force measurement could only be solved using expensive eddy current sensors or strain gauges.
However, these must be permanently mounted on the measurement object, which is not always possible or desirable. With a Measuring range of 0,25 mm The High Sensitivity sensors detect relative position changes in the micrometer range even in difficult environments. Due to the reduced measuring range, which can be individually adjusted, even the smallest deflections cause a large change in the output signal. The signal can be easily processed with standard 8-bit input modules.
The high sensitivity sensors have an innovative 1-point teach for quick and easy commissioning. The sensor only has to be positioned roughly 1 to 3 mm in front of the object to be detected. The position is then taught by the sensor using a teach command and the sensor displays a defined initial value at this position (offset correction).
In addition to a start or end position, the center position adjust. This makes the sensors very well suited for vibration measurements on shafts. They are linear over the entire measuring range and have an extremely small series scatter. This eliminates the time-consuming individual adjustment when installing several sensors.
Aug 21.08.2016, 18 | With the "Alphaprox IR08.DXNUMXF" Baumer presents the first inductive distance measuring device Factor 1 sensor in a robust M18 housing. The sensor enables a constant measuring range of 8 mm, regardless of what metal material the target object is made of. The advantage is particularly evident with aluminum and non-ferrous metals, where the natural damping behavior usually shortens the measuring range by up to 50%.
If target objects made of different metals are used in a machine or system, the appropriate inductive sensor had to be installed and adjusted for each metal. thanks to Alphaprox Factor 1 sensor, only one sensor is necessary. The downtime that previously occurred for conversion and readjustment is completely eliminated.
Through the innovative Teach concept the laborious mechanical adjustment is finally a thing of the past. No matter whether via cable, teach adapter or via the control: after installation, the sensors are adjusted at the push of a button and are ready for use immediately. In combination with its robust housing and minimal temperature drift, the linearized sensor is very suitable for distance measurements in handling, mechanical or lightweight construction.
Alphaprox is one flexible platform Distance measuring inductive sensors with integrated evaluation electronics and a very good price-performance ratio for industrial automation. The comfortable and easy-to-use Alphaprox sensors are ideal for the tightest of spaces, large distances, demanding environments, the smallest changes in position or high-precision measurements.
