Monitors, touch panels, display and operating housings are used in industrial environments in machines, systems and even commercial vehicles. Because commercially available monitor mounts reach their limits, RK Rose+Krieger has developed a flexible and adjustable system that meets the demands of the industry. The built-in also contribute to the special robustness and flexibility of this special monitor mount keypads by Heinrich Kipp work.

In industrial use, screen holders have to guarantee high load capacities and be able to be fixed in a way that is safe from vibration. It is also important to meet the requirements of a ergonomic workplace to: All degrees of freedom should be adjustable without tools and separately from each other, the adjusted position must hold reliably even in the event of vibration.

WorkholdingClamping technology for workpiece, device and machine tool

Another important point for a versatile monitor mount is its flexibility with regard to the connection to a machine/system and the connection dimensions of the end devices. Users often make do with their own elaborate designs, makeshift solutions from the office sector or oversized support arm systems. However, these solutions do not prove to be suitable for industrial use in the long term or are clearly too expensive.

Monitor holder up to 25 kg

kipp20217RK Rose+Krieger took on this topic and developed a flexible and adjustable monitor mount that meets the demands of the industry: The monitor mount is designed for monitors, operating housings and touch panels up to 25 kg. It is very flexible with regard to the connection dimensions for end devices:

The user can either attach the screens/operating housing using a connection plate according to VESA standard 75/100 – a 75 x 75 mm or 100 x 100 mm mounting hole pattern – or using a round universal screw-on surface made of aluminium. Thus, in principle, almost any housing can be connected without any special elements.

Also with regard to the mounting, the monitor holder is flexible. It can be fastened to the groove of aluminum profile systems with the aid of sliding blocks. But it can also be mounted on a pipe, a profile or a wall. When mounted on a round or square tubing system, the height of the support is adjustable. But even otherwise, it is very flexible: the screen can be rotated, tilted and swiveled. All degrees of freedom can be set separately. Tools are not needed thanks to the levers and handles from the Heinrich Kipp factory.

25.000 quickly available controls

kipp30217"There has been a close business relationship between Kipp and RK for many years," says Michael Neubaur, Head of Connection Technology at RK Rose + Krieger GmbH. "We source a large variety of components from the Kipp portfolio. They are installed in our standard products, but are often also used in individual customer projects. "The manufacturer's product range in the area of clamping technology, standard elements and control panels covers more than 25.000 parts, which are constantly quickly available through the logistics center. At the location Germany is produced with a large machine park.

“In concrete terms, clamping levers as well as star and wing handles with external threads are used for the monitor mounts,” explains Michael Neubaur. “As a standard, we opted for galvanized steel as the material, as the monitor brackets are usually used indoors. At the customer's request, however, we also use the low-corrosion stainless steel versions of the components. "

Adjust comfortably and lock securely

kipp40217Seen from the adaptable monitor, the clamping lever is mounted on the first freely adjustable pivot point of the monitor mount. It allows the user to rotate the monitor from portrait to landscape and then lock it. “It must be possible to lock it there with little effort. A clamping lever is very well suited for this,” explains Michael Neubaur. "Thanks to the internal detent, the clamping angle can be freely selected, which is ergonomically optimal."

RK chose the "Novo grip" model K0269. "This clamping lever ensures a particularly safe and comfortable grip," says Markus Pfeffer, Sales Team Leader at the Heinrich Kipp plant. "Almost every operating and locking problem can be solved with it." The handle lever is made of glass fiber reinforced plastic, the toothed ring is made of die-cast zinc. All steel parts correspond to strength class 5.8.

kipp50217The monitor tilt can be adjusted in 15° steps and can be locked in a vibration-proof manner. Star knobs of model K0154 are used for this. A few turns of the star knob are enough to fix the monitor in any position. "We generally value good haptics for our handles," emphasizes Markus Pfeffer. In the area of handles and knobs, the control element specialist has a large number of designs for the most varied of space conditions and clamping forces in its range, including the wing handle of the K0274 model:

The "Novo grip" is designed in terms of design and technology in such a way that it enables an absolutely natural grip and thus comfortable handling. In the monitor holder, the wing grip is used to clamp the holder to a tubular or profile construction. "In fact, the good feel of this handle convinced us," confirms Michael Neubaur.

"We are generally very satisfied with the purchased components," says Neubaur. "They meet our quality requirements and Kipp's large product portfolio allows us to source everything from one source. The short delivery times are an additional plus. "But the competent advice, the short-term provision of samples for new developments and the great flexibility in special designs are also convincing.
