Stable machine frame for special machine

The modular frame system "X-frame" is used to set up individual machine frames and housings. Häwa presents a new application example for the variable machine frame “X-frame”: Two standardized X-frame cells based on the same set of drawings have been developed for a special machine for the assembly of micro-optical and opto-electronic assemblies.
With X-frame, complex machine frames can be assembled from a few individual components within a very short time, combining the flexibility and modular structure of aluminum profiles with the strength of steel frames. The patented X-frame is not just a supporting frame, but a functional frame. The inside of the frame is freely accessible through external, lockable flaps and can be used as a Cable channel and can be used quickly and easily to accommodate electronic and pneumatic components.
Special machine for assembly
The machine manufacturer Ficontec Service GmbH builds special machines for the assembly of micro-optical and opto-electronic modules. For him, two standardized X-frame cells were developed. These can be ordered either in stainless steel (V2A), for the often required use in clean rooms, or in powdered sheet steel. The sheet steel and stainless steel versions of the cells are both based on the same drawing set and are therefore quick and inexpensive to produce. No additional design work is necessary.
In the case of highly accurate machines, it is important that the working platform is low-vibration and stable. The X frame machine frame must be able to accommodate various axis systems and be adaptable or expandable to occasionally unusual user requirements, without having to consider a new design with a new design every time. The X-frame machine frames are suitable for these high demands on stability, modularity, expandability and still given individuality.
Advantages over fixed aluminum racks
X-frame offers a much higher basic stability than machine frames with aluminum profile. As already described, the X-frame functional frame is not just a supporting frame. Due to its large cross-sections, the interior of the struts offers the possibility to accommodate hoses, lines, cables, maintenance units, valve terminal, 19 "modules and many other modules protected within the frame. Subsequent installation of cables and other media is possible at any time in the X-frame frame. Even light curtains can be easily, quickly and protected mounted in the corner struts.
Advantages of X-frame over welded tubular steel structures
In contrast to welded tubular steel constructions, X-frame is flexibly expandable with its modular design. Even complex shapes can be quickly and easily build up with the X-frame frame without increased effort. Due to the high number of bends, the large cross sections of the frame parts and the selectable material thicknesses, the X-frame frame is very stable and torsionally stiff. All necessary holes and breakouts are already taken into account when cutting the struts. This eliminates the time-consuming, additional processing of the frame parts by drilling and milling machines. Welded parts and threaded bolts can also be easily integrated into the frame.
