Dosing in the process industry is generally a core task. If additives and auxiliary materials or highly effective chemicals have to be added to the production or the process in an economical and environmentally friendly way, precise dosing is a prerequisite. Grundfos offers dosing pumps with stepper motor technology (digital dosing). As a variant, dosing pumps are available with variable-speed step or Servomotor available (Smart Digital).
While conventional diaphragm dosing pumps use a stroke length adjustment and / or stroke frequency, Digital Dosing dosing pumps always operate with full stroke length. A change in the metering is done solely on the Druckhubgeschwindigkeit with continuous use of the full stroke length, which in turn has a positive effect on precision and optimal gas handling.
By using the variable-speed drive, the digital dosing pumps achieve a setting range of up to 1: 3000 and thus about a factor of 70 larger than with traditional dosing pumps. With only a few models, the Smart Digital dosing pumps cover a large performance range, so that the variety of pumps and spare parts is significantly reduced. The pumps dispense with low pulsation and uniformity, are easy to operate and can be universally integrated into the existing process control technology. Pre-programmed function blocks are available for easy and fast integration in Profibus or Profinet systems.
The manufacturer is now expanding the range of its dosing pumps with variable-speed drive (Smart Digital) by the Smart Digital XL versions with an extremely wide setting range of 1: 800 with simultaneously high dosing accuracy of ± 1,5% over the entire setting range. This allows for precise metering of chemicals, even at very small dosages. Due to the high dosing accuracy, these pumps are especially recommended for dosing concentrated chemicals.
