News about the engine

Servo motor, DC motor, brushless motor, DC motor, torque motor, stepper motor

BaumüllerThe new generation of DST high-torque motors in sizes up 135 400 Baumüller is in addition to the solid shaft now consistently available with hollow shaft or integrated thrust bearing. The various designs of DST motors provide more degrees of freedom in the design and facilitate an optimal integration of the engine into the machine design.

When in extruders squeezed during plasticizing liquid plastic out of the spray head, contribute enormous pressure forces in the direction of the motor shaft. Pressure bearings absorb these forces, in order to compensate for the axial bearing loads and to protect the underlying machine unit. Baumüller now offers the latest generation of compact and powerful high torque motors in sizes 135 DST, 200, 260, 315 400 and optional integrated thrust bearing. This allows pressure to bear forces 800 kN. With the integrated into the engine there is for one bearing for machine builders the costly installation and other meets this design space is limited to machines, because the integration of the bearing in the motor, it takes up less space. In addition, the design simplifies maintenance in case conversion and disassembly of the machine. By means of a drilled shaft, the user can, for example through the use of a spindle press beyond the extruder screw to the front.

In addition to the solid shaft and an optional integrated thrust bearing the DST motors of all sizes are also available with hollow shaft. Inside the hollow shaft can be, for example, to accommodate additional components such as a ball screw, which allows for a more compact machine design. In addition, the cooling water for a roller or other fluids are passed.

The high-torque motors are multi-pole, permanent magnet synchronous motors with a torque range up to 32.000 Nm. This makes the DST-series motor with solid shaft, hollow shaft or thrust bearings particularly suitable for applications at low speeds require high torque. Use in industrial environments, the high protection IP54 makes possible. Within a certain tolerance have the powerful engines on a good overload capability. Furthermore, they have a very good rotation properties and can be due to its compact design easily integrate into existing machine concepts and tightly strung together.
